Introduction
The Rainbow organization is a small charity that support clients that have a problem with sight and need help with ICT. As you can imagine there is a certain amount of attributes required as it is a learning environment; consideration and reassuring is also needed.
In any job roles there are certain attributes that are required, some job-related and some general, over wise known as soft skills. These will be the attributes that attract the employee to the employer which is quite important.
The Rainbow organization would require certain attributes to make sure that the certain person is suitable for the job role.

Personal attributes are valued by the employer at the Rainbow organization. These attributes need to be reflected in the work that is carried out in the charity.
Attributes
An attribute is something that is valued by an employer, it is what an employer wants to see and sees as appropriate or needed for the job role. There are two types of attributes which are;
- Specific Attributes
- General Attributes
Specific attributes are attributes that are along the lines of what is learned. What grades and knowledge a person has on a certain subject. For example in the Rainbow organisation a person that has knowledge in ICT will be required as it is their job role.
General attributes are attributes that are along the lines of what they already have. This would be for example what they are good at. This would be for example time management; Rainbow organization would see this important as staff will have to meet their clients on time.
Specific Attribute: Technical Knowledge The job requires the employee to be able to work a computer and use blog, talking books, CDs and also know how to play them and burn them and how to communicate with clients online.
Technical knowledge is very important in this job role; the employee has to be able to do all these things without guidance. They need to know what software and hardware they need for the job they are carrying out and also how to do the job from start to finish. For example, when burning a CD they need to know:

· how to insert the CD how to burn
· And what software to use for burning, software such as NERO.
They will have to be able to create and edit a blog, using blogging tools such as Tumblr and Blogger.
The technical knowledge will reflect from their qualifications. If they have done I.C.T at GCSE/A-level level then they will have a fair amount of knowledge around the area of I.C.T which will help in their job role at the charity.

Experience in the job role helps as well. If the person has previously worked in an IT role then they will stand out to the employer a lot. This is because they have knowledge and the experience needed to carry out the role.
Blogs would have to be updated frequently. These blogs would have to be presented in a nice a professional manner in which all spelling must be correct, with the use of good punctuation and grammar. The blogs are important and is representing the Rainbow organization so the work has to be at a high standard.
Emails would be used on a daily basis. Emails between staff and managers would hold information that is important and often confidential. Communication would occur via email often so staff members have to be able to use email and use it in a professional manner in which the information would be efficient and correct. Staff may also communicate with clients using email.
Databases would be used to hold records on clients and staff. Staff would keep records on clients such as their name, address, age, contact details and any other necessary data that needs to be held. Staff records would hold information such as name, address, age, job role and other job related information that is necessary. Staff can easily check up on a database to find this information and have to be able to update it.

Working along a manager will happen often. There will have to be a good standard of team work and effort. A manager will not want or tolerate a staff member who is working with them be lazy, not put the effort in and not have a good sense of teamwork. The manager will give staff tasks to carry out which need to be dealt with and worked on in the best way possible.
General Attribute – Planning skills
Planning is key in an organization, it is important that planning is used in all aspects of the Rainbow organizations.
Employees need to be able to show that they can plan their time well, to get the job done. Employees need to plan their day to complete all of their tasks and meet the clients as well. The employee also needs to plan their schedule so that they can attend staff meetings. Effective planning will mean that the employee gets the job done to a high standard and also that they do everything that they need to without missing appointments. Meetings would be scheduled so that all people can attend, this would have to be carefully planned so that all will be there and that they know the location and time of the meeting.
If a staff member was going into a group of clients to take them for a lesson and there was no plan on what to teach then the lesson would be a disaster.
Personal Attitudes
An attitude is the way in which a person acts. The way in which the person will approach something for example a person can go to school with a bad attitude and his day would consist of minimum effort into his work, or they could go to school with a good attitude and get the work done.
Leadership
Leadership means to lead a team. The volunteers need to have good leadership skills as they will be taking a group of clients in which they are the person with the responsibility to making sure that the clients know and understand what they are doing. It is up to them that if someone does not understand a part of what they are doing, that they help them understand.
In the Rainbow organization leadership skills would have to be taken on bored when the staff members are teaching the clients. The clients have to look at the employee as a leader and feel that they can go to the leader if they need help.
Leadership would be a useful attitude to have and show, as when working in a teach with the other volunteers, someone will have to take the lead. If the manager is off or out of the office – a good leader will be able to direct the other volunteers on what to do and to make decisions to get the job done.
Managers would empower their staff at times to do tasks that may require leadership so this attitude will be used often in their job role.

Dependable
Being a dependable person is a great attitude that managers value. Volunteers need to be dependable in case of emergency and need. If a staff member calls in sick then the manager will ring another person to see if they can cover, the manager will want to call someone who is dependable who is willing to help out when help is needed.
The employee has to be able to be there when the clients need them. The clients will see the member of staff as a dependable and understanding person. If the client does not understand something that is being taught then the client should feel that asking them to explain is not a problem and that it will be explained until they understand.

Within the Rainbow organisation dependable Volunteers will make the organisation look trustworthy and professional. If the volunteer is going out to meet clients and is not dependable – this will paint Rainbow in a negative way and make the company come across as unprofessional. This is why having a dependable attitude is important within the Rainbow charity.
